What YOU CAN EXPECT DURING A SAFETY cHECK

Electrical Safety Check

Electrical power outlets, light fittings/switches and
electrical appliances through-out the property will need to be accessible
during the course of the Safety Check to ensure the testing required by the
Residential Tenancies Regulations 2021.

Whilst we try to be as least disruptive
as possible, the field team have to complete specific tests which may cause
brief power disruptions to ensure legal requirements are met.

Key component’s of the Safety Check:
 

  • Power will be cut out briefly during the check, the Electrician on site will notify you as and how it will occur – minimal if
    not any interruptions at all to your work setup or other devices your operating.
  • Air Conditioners and other Electrical Appliances will need to be turned on and check for optimal operation, unfortunately this
    may be during winter.
  •  Access required to all area’s to the property and any garages/bungalows as the electrical installation is often through the premises.
  •  Access into the roof may be required.

Helpful hint: if all your power/lighting goes out, check for any outage’s in the area


Gas Safety Check

Gas appliances through out the property will need to be accessible and turned on during the course of the Safety Check to ensure the testing required by the Residential Tenancies Regulations 2021.

Whilst we try to be as least disruptive as possible, the field team have to complete specific tests to ensure legal requirements are met.

Key components of the Safety Check:

 • Gas appliances will be used during the safety check, operational as minimally as heater’s will need to be turned on to complete required check’s, unfortunately this may be during summer

Smoke Alarm Safety Check

Smoke Alarm Safety Check’s require thorough testing of the Smoke Alarm’s operation, this can be noisy but it can be a quick 15-20 minute process so our team will do their best to be in and out.

 To make it easier for our team, please ensure to book the appointment time when the noise is not going to be too disruptive to yourself and allow free access to the Smoke Alarm locations.

Key components of the Safety Check:

·         Emitting contained smoke at the Smoke Alarm to ensure it’s effective operation

·         Activating the Smoke Alarm beeping to ensure beeping noise levels meet requirements and operation
