Syncom places a strong emphasis on being respectful of you and your home during a safety check.

It is our mission to get in and out quickly, to minimise disruption to you which is helped by booking our qualified electricians and gasfiiters in the one appointment where possible.

Electrical Safety Check

Accessibility

It is important that all electrical power outlets, light fittings/switches and electrical appliances through-out your property are accessible during the course of the Safety Check to ensure the testing required by the Residential Tenancies Regulations 2021.

It would help us to get in and out faster if you could move furniture away from pointpoints, light switches and reduce clutter around electrical appliances.

Power Interruption

In completing our testing work we may need to turn off power to your property briefly, to ensure legal requirements are met.

Our field team are there to help talk you through the process. Feel free to ask questions or speak to our booking team on 03 8407 1000 when making an appointment.

Electrical Safety Check – Key Steps

  • Power will be switched off  briefly during the safety check. Our onsite electrician will give you an estimate as to how long your power will be off. We will seek to minimise this time to reduce any impact to you and your household.
  • Air conditioners and other electrical appliances will need to be turned on and checked that they are operating optimally.
  • Our staff may require access to all areas of your property, including garages & bungalows, etc, to complete our testing.
  • Our staff may also have to get into your roof, as required.

Gas Safety Check

All gas appliances in your property will need to be accessible and turned on during the course of the safety check to ensure we can complete all testing required by the Residential Tenancies Regulations 2021.

Whilst we aim to reduce disruption, our field team has to complete specific tests to ensure all legal requirements are met.

If you have any questions speak to our booking team on 03 8407 1000 or to the field team onsite we are happy to answer any questions you may have.
